Black and White: Matching My Dog.

I didn't try to match my black and white dog this morning when I dressed in my black Alaexander Wang skirt, white Helmet Lang top and black Isabel Marant boots, but it happened.  I'm oddly okay with it though.

These pics were snapped on the fly with the iphone, Instragram was neglected.

Dress for a Safari in the Concrete Jungle.

What happens when a silky lady like dress gets layered with a cotton twill utility vest and a chunky boot? You get an outfit is sophisticated enough for work or dinner on the town, but doesn't look like you're trying to hard.   Because isn't understated chicness always the goal?

Fashion's Night Out 2011: Black and Grey

The weather right now is like an angsty teenager; moody, unpredictable and full of water works.  But don't let stop you from celebrating a night dedicated to one of my favorite pastimes: appreciating retail!  Let's not call it "shopping",  I feel that trivializes all the hard work and money that goes into merchandising, designing, and creating a special experience for each and every customer.  So, although the great Anna Wintour named tonight Fashion's Night Out, I prefer to think of it as Retail Appreciation Night.  Go out, drink up, and look chic in this black and grey outfit I made for you!

Shorts for Fall, Fall Short.

Some might say they're an alternative to skirts, another way to flash your gorgeous gams, but in the land of fall fashion I think they're an ill fit.  Shorts were all over the Fall 08 runways, from Alexander Wang's demolished denim to pintuck pleates from Philip Lim and Rag and Bone.  But adding shorts to your fall rotation posses a major problem.  Do you risk hypothermia and go bare or don a pair of tights and risk looking well, just plain silly?  The Jodpher shorts by Rag and Bone are especially troubling, combining two bad trends in one.  The questionable equestrian look we mentioned a few weeks ago and the slightly winterized shorts.  Good luck unloading those ShopBop, we'll see you on sale!  Which ironically, will take place when it's almost warm enough to wear shorts again!
